Smoking

I spotted this stenciled logo on the way to work one day (picture coming tonight) and since my husband drove today, I was able to snap an okay picture from our moving car.

The logo looks just like a no smoking sign, but with the bar missing from the middle. So, I can only assume that means "smoking". I didn't notice there seems to be a word below the logo until I uploaded the picture--and unfortunately I can't tell what it says.

Since Ohio now relegates public smoking to outdoor areas with very few exceptions, indoor air quality has, of course, increased. No matter how you feel about the regulations, you have to admit that it is nice to be able to go out at night without having to nurse yourself with antihistamines, take a long shower and wash your entire outfit immediately to avoid bringing the fresh scent of an ashtray home with you. I'm just sayin'.

So, back to the stenciled logo I spotted. I am assuming that since this is on a concrete barrier right across the Ohio-Kentucky line, it is a message that says "You can smoke here".

What really puzzles me is how the responsible party was able to line up the stencil and paint without being hit by a car. At first, I figured that it was most likely done in the middle of the night when traffic is light, but in any case, there is NO WAY you would catch me standing in that spot in the dark. Someone must really want this message to be seen.

Location: On 471 North in Kentucky on the left side painted on the barrier; right before Fort Mitchell exit.

KFC Subliminal Messages

I'm all about messages hidden by regular people. That's why I'm attracted to things like geocaching. But subliminal messages on tv? That just freaks me out. Especially because I'm well versed in conspiracy theories and watch UFO shows on a regular basis.

I thought I was crazy last night when I was watching tv. The new KFC Snacker ad came on and I swore up and down I saw a hidden picture. I was in the bedroom where we don't have a DVR, so at the time I couldn't take another look. The commercial was on again this morning, so we slowed it down and watched closely. Sure enough, there's a dollar hidden in the lettuce...creepy! Can you spot it?

P.S. KFC has been accused of this before.

Sign Drought

There seems to be a sign/graffiti drought in Cincinnati, or maybe I've just been too busy with school to look hard enough. I did spot something interesting painted on a concrete barrier, but I will have to have my camera ready at the right moment in morning traffic to take it.

In the meantime, here's a great link.
